Bell Bank Employees Volunteer for United Way Day of Caring
The event mobilizes thousands of volunteers from all over Cass and Clay Counties to help area seniors and others in need with home and yard projects.
Brianne Schultz, Bell Bank retail trainer, says she enjoyed volunteering for Day of Caring so much last year, she decided to do it again.
Volunteers helped with everything from light cleaning projects such as washing windows to lawn care, cleaning gutters and raking leaves.
“It’s a nice way of getting out and giving back to the community,” says Jesse Dvorak, Bell Bank retail trainer, adding that it’s also a good way to connect with his co-workers.
This is the fifth year Debbie Becker, Bell Bank customer service specialist, has volunteered for the event.
“These people appreciate it so much, so it’s really fun to get out in the community and help these elderly people who can’t do these things for themselves,” she comments.
Last year, more than 1,600 volunteers helped out at 470 homes. This was the 26th annual Day of Caring.
